Mini Easter Baskets

mini baskets 1Miniature things are always cuter. Examples: mini candy bars, baby animals, human babies, human babies’ clothes . . . okay, you get the picture, I hope. So with Easter fast approaching, we asked ourselves, “What could be cuter than miniature Easter baskets?” Granted, you can’t pile it full of sugar like you can a regular basket, but maybe that’s not such a bad thing. Less is more . . . or something.

These mini Easter baskets would make adorable party favors, not to mention they are quick and enjoyable to put together.

Keep reading to find out what you need and how to create these tiny, baby baskets.mini baskets 2

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • empty egg carton
  • scissors
  • paint
  • wire
  • ribbon
  • basket grass
  • mini treats

First, take your empty egg carton and cut it apart. After you’ve separated your egg carton, it’s now time to paint! Use whichever colors you’d like. We went with some soft pastels for spring. After painting, set aside and let your little baskets dry.

Next, take some wire and form a handle for the basket. Push the ends of your wire through the sides of the basket and twist the wire tight to secure. Using some ribbon, tie a bow at the top of your handle for an added festive touch.mini baskets 3

You’ve just created a mini Easter basket! Now all that’s left is to fill it. Throw in some decorative grass and arrange your Easter goodies to your liking. We went with Cadbury Mini Eggs and they fit perfectly inside our egg carton baskets. It’s like Cadbury Mini Eggs were MADE for mini Easter baskets.

Enjoy your upcoming Easter festivities. Throw some miniature baskets together and they’re sure to be a hit with adults and children alike.

I mean, so cute. Give me everything mini.
